“Don’t murder anyone”
That’s what Niko says.
There’s not really anything to add to that, is there?
Don’t spread the virus if you know you have it.
Don’t spread the virus if you don’t know you have it.
Just.
Don’t spread it…
Our best and most brilliant are racing to find a vaccine.
In the meantime, humanity has to stand together (or apart, erm) and we have to take this economic hit if we want loved ones to survive. Our worst case scenario is we lose 10% of the population, or 700 million human beings.
Best case, we lose between 1 and 3 %.
That’s still more than 70 million people…

For those in lockdown, coming to the end of your ROPE (you should have bought more, and not all that toilet paper) with your “cell” mates and your shared lockdown living conditions, maybe this directive to not murder anyone, is already starting to feel open-to-interpretation, and elastic to you…
In which case, put on earphones and tune out the annoyance for a little more than 2 hours…
“Just don’t murder anyone.“
Thank you Niko for reminding us of the little things in life.

R.E.M. – Drive
This was the only REM song we did in a cover band I was part of in the 90’s. Variously called “Denial“, “Spiders to the Fly” and “In the Black“, we did mainly Nirvana and Metallica covers and wrote a couple of original songs, but I once also sang “losing my religion” at a Karaoke bar filled with hip-hop and R&B fans. One couple stood up and danced in solidarity with this white dude singing depressive alternative music just because of his balls to do so, and totally against the grain of the rest of the party. The rest stood with mouths open, shocked…
R.E.M. will do that for you
The Cure – Charlotte Sometimes
New Order – Leave me Alone [one of the apt song titles for these times]
Justin Timberlake – Señorita
Ed Sheeran – Thinking out Loud
Art vs Science – With thoughts we create the world
Ou Est Le Swimming Pool – Outside

Selena Gomez – What the heart wants
Every time I hear this song start up I can’t help but hear her singing “WTF?!“
Disclosure – You & Me (Flume Remix)
Calvin Harris & Disciples – How deep is your love
Major Lazer – Lay your head on me (feat Marcus Mumford)
Lazuli – Le mar du passé [French Progressive Rock/World Music band. Led by 2 brothers. The short-shit who plays guitar and sings, and his brother who plays a piece of plank with some permanent marker stripes on it…at least that’s what it looks like, but what it really is a home-made guitar/cello-like instrument which makes it possible for him to play guitar like a maniac with the only remaining usable arm he has, after a tragic motorbike accident claimed the functionality of his other arm. It looked like he would never live his dream of playing guitar again, but then he went to an electronics-expert friend…They’re the French version of Def Leppard, but louder, and not in English]
Tomisheep – Zombies [I first heard this song on Moz Taylor’s Jazz Boulevard radio program broadcasting out of Montreal, Canada. It was the Halloween episode… Kak funny]
“Mom, you better calm her down…”
