He’s a township rescue dog, so although he’s a big-ass boerboel with rippling muscle and tendons like steel on a frame of tungsten, he has the softest, gentlest, and very fragile soul.

He teaches me I have to move softly and slower than I normally would on my own. He cowers when I make any unexpected sudden movement. Raised voices scare him. I could go on.
He’s my best friend and a gentle teacher, and I’m honest to say I’m happy to be in isolation with him. I mean, not that much has changed. Only, when you view relationships anew as framed through the prism of Covid-19…
